The Songbyrde Foundation’s mission statement is to give every creative form a voice and amplify that voice in every medium. 

The Foundation aims to fund work that displays artistic innovation and cultural diversity. We uphold the freedom of self expression and our advisory board guides our selection of projects to fund and promote.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary goal of the Songbyrde Foundation is to maintain the copyright and intellectual property of the authors Prema Sastri and Sumi Sastri, the organisation’s co-founders. The Foundation is the not-for-profit arm of concentric circles digital ltd., which is the trading name of the House of Dharbha Ltd.

The secondary goal of the Foundation is to allocate funds to other creative projects on a case-by case basis.

The Foundation will look for projects that display

  • the freedom of creative expression
  • cross-cultural collaboration
  • artistic innovation in any medium or format

The Foundation is primary funded by the commercial activities of its parent, concentric circles limited.

Structure and Governance

The affairs of the Foundation will be managed by the directors of concentric circles ltd and the House of Dharbha Ltd., or “Funding Organisations”.

The advisory panel is made up of a selection of creative people across a variety of media. The advisory panel will support and guide the decisions of the directors.

The advisory panel are neither share-holders, nor voting members of the Funding Organisations.

The advisory panel may offer their services on a voluntary basis or may be paid a nominal fee for services rendered.

The advisory panel may serve on a project-to-project basis on or on an annual basis for the period of one calendar year.

The officers serve on a voluntary basis and are not compensated by the Funding Organisations.

The decisions of the Founder and Artistic Director are final and are made in consultation with the Chief Advisor.

An Annual General Meeting will be held with minuted meeting notes circulated to the Officers of the Foundation.

The purpose of the AGM will be to discuss:

  • Key milestones in the primary goal of the Foundation to protect the copyright and intellectual property rights of the authors Prema Sastri and Sumi Sastri
  • Key projects under consideration for additional funding
  • A selection of the advisory panel for future projects

Any other ad—hoc meetings will be minuted for the Foundations records.

Accounts – the accounts of the Foundation will be submitted as the not-for-profit activities of concentric circles ltd, the trading name of the House of Dharbha Ltd., from the accounting year  2023-2024 onwards.

Independence: The Foundation is a secular, a-political organisation that supports the dignity, civility and respect to all individuals who seek funding on their artistic merit. 

Dissolution – The Foundation can be dissolved at an AGM where the directors mutually agree that to discontinue the activities of the Foundation.

MATTERS NOT PROVIDED FOR Any matter not provided for in the Rules may be dealt with by the directors of the Funding Organisations at their discretion.
